The Kindergarten

The Kindergarten section, which is the foundation stage, admits children from 3 years of age. It is a self-contained unit with specially designed classroom and a playground to cater chiefly to the needs of young children. The KG1 and KG2 classes are staffed by a team of qualified teachers. The ratio of student to teachers is 10 students to a teacher, thus ensuring personal attention to each child.

In the Kindergarten years, young children endeavor to make sense of their expanding world and the people in it. Here at the Pristine Kindergarten, we believe in giving them first hand experiences of the world and the chance to explore it.

The approach to learning is modern. Audio/Visual, sensory/motor and interactive materials are used to give the children a hands-on education.

The kindergarten core curriculum addresses the areas of:

  • Language and Literacy
  • Numeric skills

In keeping with the aim of developing the “whole self” of a child, Creative, Social, Environmental and Information based concepts are introduced through thematic units. These are aimed at developing intellectual skills, thus encouraging children to think, develop insights of cause and effect, assimilate, classify and apply acquire knowledge.

These themes are also represented in special Days and events, such as:

  • Splashery Day
  • Universal Children’s Day
  • National Day Celebrations
  • Barn Yard Day
  • Earth Day
  • Food Fiesta
  • Quizzes
  • Play Dough Sculpture Day
  • Sports Day
  • Concerts
  • Graduations and Awards Ceremony

Similarly, the subjects of Art and Craft, Music and Drama are introduced at this level.

The environment at the Pristine Kindergarten allows the children to develop a positive attitude to learning and prepares them to take on the challenges of the junior school.

The above activities are well knit with the school calendar to facilitate all our attainment targets.
